Daniel Nistico

Performer, Educator, Author

Praise the Lord with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.
Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.
For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth.

--- Psalm 33:1-3

Daniel is helping pave the way to revolutionize the classical guitar. His research into 19th century performance practice has revealed insights into how guitarists like Sor, Aguado, Giuliani, Mertz, etc. interpreted their music. Daniel's deep study of harmony has led him to inspire hundreds of guitarists to compose, arrange and improvise - something which in recent decades past has been a lost part of classical guitar training. This has led to the creation of an online school called The Creative Classical Guitarist, which is a complete music school in your pocket that embraces all aspects of guitar playing. Daniel doesn't just look back for ways of refreshing the guitar's repertoire, but also looks forward by using electric guitars and effects to create new sound worlds.

"I find these op. 40 Etudes really exciting and of a high level, similar to the lesser piano works of the great composers of the era, like Schumann or Chopin. You play them very well indeed and make a most convincing case for them."
--- David Leisner
